THE SCIENCE OF AYURVEDA

Ayurveda is one of the world's oldest systems of traditional wellness, originating in India over 3,000 years ago. The word comes from Sanskrit: "Ayur" (life) and "Veda" (knowledge) - together meaning "the knowledge of life."

ORIGINS

Ayurveda's foundational texts - the Charaka Samhita and Sushruta Samhita - were composed over two millennia ago and remain reference points for Ayurvedic practice today. These texts documented the use of herbs, minerals, diet, and lifestyle practices to maintain balance in the body and mind.

CORE PRINCIPLES

Ayurveda is built around the concept of balance between three doshas - Vata, Pitta, and Kapha - which are believed to govern different physical and mental functions. Traditional Ayurvedic practice focuses on maintaining this balance through diet, daily routine (dinacharya), and herbal formulations, rather than treating isolated symptoms.

COMMON AYURVEDIC INGREDIENTS

Many Ayurvedic formulations draw on a well-established set of botanicals, including:

- Amla, Haritaki, and Bibhitaki (together forming Triphala)

- Guggul

- Ashwagandha

- Turmeric

AYURVEDA TODAY

Modern Ayurvedic medicine manufacturers, regulated in India by the Ministry of AYUSH, continue this tradition - combining classical formulations with modern manufacturing standards such as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification, to bring traditional Ayurvedic formulations to households today.

Herbasium Life's products are manufactured by SBP Laboratories as licensed Ayurvedic medicines under AYUSH License No. 22/25D/2002 and GMP Certificate No. 52, marketed by Amfyn Ecommerce, continuing this tradition of formulation rooted in classical Ayurvedic practice.
